Stand with Women and Gender-Expansive Entrepreneurs of Color
Women and gender-expansive entrepreneurs of color are under attack. As political assaults on diversity, equity, and inclusion grow and the trans community is targeted, essential public resources are disappearing. Cuts to Small Business Administration programs, harmful shifts in Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) lending, immigration raids, and rollbacks to the Affordable Care Act subsidies are devastating our small business communities.
The Barriers are Growing —and so is Our Resolve
For women and gender-expansive communities of color, the path to economic sovereignty is steep and getting steeper. National cuts to small business resources and the social safety net—combined with the gender pay gap, mass layoffs, exclusion from higher-wage industries, no parental leave, and systemic discrimination—push many into self-employment in an economy never designed for us to thrive.
The World We are Building
At Just BE, we are co-creating an intergenerational BIWOC cooperative economy rooted in dignity, care, and sovereignty. We are committed to women and gender-expansive people of color working for themselves as healers, makers, therapists, freelancers, artists, consultants, and more.
What We Believe
True prosperity starts with healing and belonging. When community comes first, entrepreneurs can co-create and lead, not just survive.
95% of women of color entrepreneurs are solo-preneurs without employees and consistent help. Just BE coordinates spaces of togetherness, so that overworked small business owners don’t have to.

We are building a future rooted in the solidarity economy: led by women of color, cooperatively owned spaces, collective healing, and community power.
