Help Us Finish Strong
Just BE is taking an intentional pause at end of December 2026
After ten years and 3,600+ BIWOC entrepreneurs served, we've made the difficult decision to pause our project and close our fiscal sponsorship with Tides Center. Our programs continue through December 31. Our community continues always.
We need $40,000 to make sure every remaining session, every somatic coaching hour, and every community gathering happens as promised to the women counting on us. This is our final ask, and we're making it honestly.

Every dollar raised goes directly to the five programs still running this year:
Kindred Connections — Monthly in-person community gatherings in Richmond and Oakland for BIWOC entrepreneurs. Real food, real conversations, real connection.
1:1 Somatic Coaching — Individual coaching sessions rooted in the Strozzi methodology, helping BIWOC entrepreneurs work through money trauma, burnout, and the weight of running a business alone.
RPOC Membership — Our ongoing presence in the REAL Peoples Organizing Collective, advocating for policies that support BIPOC-owned businesses and cooperatives in Oakland.
10 Year Celebration — Our annual holiday office party for women and gender-expansive entrepreneurs of color will be opened up to friends and family this year in celebration of Just BE’s ten years of impact.

1 landmark policy win: Oakland's first-ever legislation to financially prioritize worker cooperatives, plus $1.5M in non-police public safety funding, won in coalition with RPOC in 2024

Ten years is worth marking. Come celebrate the decade, honor each other, and close this chapter with the same spirit we opened it with. Expect somatic activities, community games, art and maker vendors, and a few words on the history and heart of Just BE. Food and beverages available for purchase at Understory. We're grateful to Understory for generously donating their space.

Closing with integrity means finishing what we promised. It means the women who signed up for coaching get their sessions. The entrepreneurs who came to Kindred Connections in January get to come back in November. The community that trusted us gets a real goodbye.
